Cedar and some earth on the nose. Raspberry and tea leaf also. On the palate it's light and refreshing with raspberry, tea leaf and dusty spice. Cherry as well. Cedar. 87 pts. 1/12/13
One of the really fun, delicious ones where you taste more and more notes as you drink. Unusually complex for a Pinot Noir heading towards very dry but with bold lush flavors. Tasted berries, spices, earthy things and a definitely delightful black pepper hint that worked brilliantly with the chicken/prosciutto/caper, white cannelini bean compote, and 3 cheese/caprese flatbread meal we were having at Le Cave, Wynn, Las Vegas. Notes from mfr website: "Our largest production level at Walnut City at only 3500 cases. Purple flowers, dried herbs and wet earth open the bouquet, gradually giving way to tart cherry, raspberry and rhubarb. Bright acidity and tart red fruit dominate the palate, with hints of dried herbs and nutmeg. The finish is sharp and bright, alluding to the youthfulness of this Pinot Noir. "
