W.H. Smith Pinot Noir 2006

Winemaker's Notes:

Immediately you notice the bright garnet color of the wine. The nose flows through with violets and Bing cherries. The wine is extremely well balanced, with notes of warm sage, cloves, cherries and strawberries dominating the palate. The texture is classic Pinot – silky, sexy and satisfying. Food Matches: This wine goes great with grilled wild salmon or a special dinner of roast pheasant. It is also a great just to drink with a mushroom and cheese pizza.

You would have no idea this is from CA - Burgundian in style and aging eloquently. A really strong effort, and great value.

Smith's basic regional Pinot is a very fine wine. It shows the elegant combination of power and subtlety that mark a fine Pinot Noir, and the alcohol level is low. Dry and crisp, the flavors are of cola, raspberries, rosehip tea, licorice and spice. Drink now. - S.H. ** Only 11 in Stock **

Strawberry, cola, and pomegranate flavors burst on the palate of this Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir. Toasty vanilla mingles with a well-balanced acidity to create a complex, elegant Pinot with a velvety-smooth texture.
