Colour: Deep garnet
Nose: White pepper, blueberries, earthy beetroot, liquorice and sweet vanillin oak
Palate: Blueberries, dark plums, white pepper and spice, integrated with long, fine, chalky tannins

- From an outstanding vintage for red wines in Margaret River. If you can find it, this earlier vintage of the Voyager Estate shiraz, which had a small dose of estate-grown grenache, is a wine in a "hybrid" (Austro-French) style. It has masses of high-class, distinctly regional fruit characters (spice, liquorice and black cherry), but with distinctly gamy, almost barnyard characters, Rhone-like savoury earthiness, with good acid, excellent balance and structure.
