Volver Tempranillo 2012
Wine: "Bright purple, dark berries, cherry pit, licorice and tobacco on the nose. Slowly unfolds to offer sappy cassis and bitter cherry flavours lifted by tangy acidity and complicated by a peppery, spicy quality. Finishes gripping and long, with resonating cherry and spice notes. Give this some aeration or a couple more years of bottle age." - Winery Vineyards: "The grapes for this wine come a single vineyard of 28 hectares (72 acres), called "Finca Los Juncares", that was planted in 1957 located at an altitude of 660 meters above sea level. The soils are sandy ( up to 1 meter in depth) with a lot of iron rich clay, and a thick layer of chalk. Winters are very cold; summers are hot with cool nights and it is a very arid climate. Only after very careful vineyard selections, the best vines of Tempranillo grapes are hand harvested." - Winery

The most expensive wine in this portfolio is the 2012 Single Vineyard, a 100% Tempranillo from a vineyard in La Mancha planted in 1957. There are 2,000 cases of this cuvée, which sees 18 months of aging in new French oak, and is bottled unfiltered. An outstanding, value-priced wine, its deep ruby/purple color is followed by notes of unsmoked cigar tobacco, licorice, Christmas fruitcake, blackberries and cassis. Intense and medium-bodied with sweet tannin and a voluptuous, long finish, it should drink well for 1–3 years. It is another Spanish red that over-delivers in fruit, flavor and complexity.
Dark purple. Expressive dark berry preserve, vanilla and floral pastille aromas are lifted by a subtle peppery nuance. Lush and open-knit, offering intense blueberry and cherry-vanilla flavors that tighten up with air. Finishes on a juicy note, with excellent length, silky tannins and an echo of blue fruits.
