Voga Pinot Grigio 2008
Score: N/A Tasting Notes: Italian Pinot Grigio is normally very light and crisp, but Voga Italia combines the soft alluring flavors of Veneto with the structure and breed of Trentino to produce what they feel is the perfect Pinot Grigio. Tasting Notes: Full and rich, with fresh, ripe apple and pear aromas and delicious, juicy flavors.
Voga is an Italian wine brand in the under $10 range with unique bottle shapes reminiscent of perfume bottles. The still wines, a Pinot Grigio, Merlot, “Rosa,” and Quattro red blend, are available in cylindrical bottles with a sleek, dark cap. The sparkling wine, a 100% Pinot Grigio, has a more triangular shape, with a clear cap exposing the cork.
I'm not a Pinot Grigio fan but I tried this at a wine tasting and WOW. I'm used to the more thin and watery pinots but this one had great body and rich flavor. It hit me as more similar to a sauvignon blanc because of it's grassy and herbaceous notes. It's somewhat more green than yellow in the glass and little acidity. Must try
Somewhat of a Pinot Grigio novice but enjoyed this wine and the price was very reasonable. Very light and fruity with a nice balance.
