Vizcarra Ribera del Duero Ramos Ines Vizcarra 2004

Winemaker's Notes:

The new wine, Ines 2004, had just been recently bottled, but even so, it was surprisingly composed. The fruit was very strong, but the tannins were quite well developed. it was velvety and nuanced. Made of a Merlot - Tempranillo blend, this wine will be released in 2006. The wine at the time of release should be truly exceptional.

The 2004 Ineacute;s (named for another daughter) is also produced from a single vineyard and, again, there are only 20 cases for the American market. Purple-colored and with a super-expressive bouquet, this wine exhibits aromas and flavors of vanilla, smoke, scorched earth, blueberry, and blackberry liqueur. Sumptuously rich in the mouth with remarkable extraction, this large-scaled wine seems almost elegant with its ripe tannins and silky, fruity finish. Like its sister wine, it can be enjoyed now or stashed away in the cellar for 6ndash;8 years. It should provide pleasure through 2020.

Ruby-red. At once broad and incisive on the nose, offering a sexy bouquet of wild strawberry, redcurrant and blackberry, complicated by minerals, fresh flowers, cinnamon and suave oak spices. Deep, round and silky, with sweet, highly concentrated red fruit flavors reminiscent of a great pinot noir. Lively minerality and spices add complexity. A wonderfully graceful wine with restrained power and exceptional balance, not to mention a finish that wonrsquo;t let up.
