External Reviews for VIVI Falanghina Campania IGT
The history of the Falanghina grape variety goes back to the ancient Romans who cultivated their most prized wines on the slopes of Mount Vesuvius in Campania. This grape was only rediscovered and brought back to life in the late 20th century and it’s now, once again producing outstanding wines from the high altitude vineyards along the Amalfi coast. The vines are now mature (15-25 years old) and the winemaking has been perfected to include sur-lie aging in tanks for added richness. The flavors are complex floral, apple, peach and citrus with hints of spice but the most remarkable thing about this Vivi Falaghina is the price. Under $13 for Falanghina, particularly of this quality is a first for us. Don’t miss it!
