Viu Manent Sémillon Colchagua Valley Late Harvest 2008

Winemaker's Notes:

Deep purple in color, on the nose this wine delivers a classic Carmenere nose of spice, black cherry and mocha. In the mouth notes of boysenberry, cassis, black tea and fragrant herbs combine beautifully leading to a long finish backed by soft, supple tannins.

Here is an extremely plush style of Carménère that is chock full of blueberry fruit. The palate is sweet and ripe and shows some mocha character. Aged 25% in French and American oak, it has some subtly oaky notes, but nothing over the top. Enjoy it on its own or with food.
