Viticcio Chianti Classico 2009

Winemaker's Notes:

90 points Ian D'Agata (International Wine Cellar): Bright, medium ruby-red. Refined aromas of blackberry, black cherry, lead pencil and espresso. Thick and impressively concentrated, but also shows lovely clarity to its dark berry and cherry flavors thanks to firm acidity. Finishes sweet, lush and long, with ripe tannins and a lingering black pepper nuance. (Sep 2012)

A tasty mix of cherry, spice and tobacco notes, with a touch of rhubarb. There's moderate grip and a firm finish. Drink now through 2012.

This Chianti’s simple grape flavors of strawberry and tomato show some warmth of acidity and alcohol. Pour it with pepperoni pizza.

The 2009 Chianti Classico is gorgeous. An open, warm bouquet leads to sweet red fruit, crushed flowers and spices in this radiant Chianti Classico. The wine shows plenty of inner perfume through to the round, harmonious finish. Anticipated maturity: 2012–2019.
