Of the 250 wines I've tasted this ranks among the top 5, one of the best I've ever tasted. Lost my tasting notes but remember near flawless balance and integration with mouthfuls of smooth black plum, dark fig, and black cherry with notes of spice, just a bit of earth, just-right acid and tannin, medium-plus body, a finish that lasted and lasted. Wine just got better after 1.5 hrs but alas we'd finished the bottle. I'm not a person to buy $50 wine but this one might work if I can share it with friends over a fine meal.

Aromas of black fruit and oak, with a hint of fresh mushroom, follow through to a firm, full-bodied palate, picking up a clean vanilla note on the finish. Needs time to broaden out. Best after 2010. 1,665 cases made.
