Clean appearance. Aromas of ripe fruit and florals. Deliciously light, but full of flavor and not overly sweet.
At one time I would not have enjoyed this wine but my palate has definitely evolved. The nose had a lot of fruit - grapefruit, peach and apricot. Flavors had all of those with a smooth texture, with hints of lemon (a bit of lime?) and a refreshing tartness of it. This was served not quite as cool as I think it should have bee but it still showed very, very well. Was VERY surprised with this wine.
Two years after my initial review and this wine continues to impress. The wine is definitely evolving. More complex and depth. Definitely will last another 5 years.
I have to admit, I didn't want to like this wine but I do. Spice, plum and oak. All in balance and low alcohol. Started a little funky but opened up nicely and really showed well. Wish I had more.

Very well made California sauvignon blanc made with a nod to Cloudy Bay, but possessing Napa Valley fruit so it is rounder and riper than the NZ variety. Aromas of pink grapefruit, lemon, and chalk give way to a palate of pink grapefruit, apple, and mineral. The mineral note is very distinctive, and makes this far better than your standard Napa SB. Also, this proves that you can have a rich, medium-bodied wine without reaching for an oaky, fume blanc style. Nicely done, and a definite rebuy.
I was hoping for more from this bottle when I bought it. It was recommended at my local wine store but found the grapefruit way too overwhelming. The acid was really all that was left after about 30 seconds. Simple in structure. If it were under $10. I might buy it again for drinking under 40 degrees, but will probably try something else next time I feel adventurous.

This too needs to be drunk soon - 1-2 years. Hazy yellow color. Strikingly complex nose suggests ripe pear, orange, anise and dusty minerals. Juicy and fresh, with admirably restrained citrus and orchard fruit flavors. Reminded me of a suave Puligny-Montrachet. I was very wowed by this wine - it's so elegant that you could mistake it for a very high priced Burgundy. In fact, it's very fairly priced for such a lovely find. It starts out very floral reminding me of walks along the river where Magnolia and Locust grow. It continues on with hints of pineapple and even a bit of black licorice. As it trickles down your throat it sings of tropical fruit and well balanced acidity. Plain and simple - if you like rare white finds. Seek this out.
Fevre owns or controls nearly one quarter of the acreage in Preuses. Their 2006 Chablis Preuses marries fruit from a southeast-facing parcel just above the Cote de Bouguerots and conducive to cool" fruit and overt minerality, with a southwest-facing parcel inherently inclined toward richness that was harvested at hugely high ripeness even before this year's ban de vendange. From its aroma through its impressively dense and expansive palate display, through its lingering finish, this sensually extravagant expression of Preuses (in a manner distinctly reminiscent of Vincent Dauvissat's) is totally suffused with the savory salinity and sweetness of shrimp and lobster shell reduction. White peach and lime occupy a discreet position, iris and lily a more prominent one, wafting alluringly throughout. This silken-textured beauty should be worth holding for a dozen or more years." RP
Dense and chewy, this is tightly wound, with rich dried currant, mineral, graphite and pepper flavors. Full-bodied and concentrated. The core flavors are intense and persistent, with a long, juicy finish. Best from 2010 through 2017. 250 cases made. -JL (Vinified with 40% whole clusters, and aged on its lees for a full two years in 20% new French oak without sulfuring, racking or stirring) Bright, deep medium ruby; much more lucid than the pinots. Brooding aromas of black fruits, licorice and tarry oak; Im not sure I would have guessed syrah. The palate presents supple dark fruit flavors but only moderate sweetness and limited varietal character.
