Dark red. Sexy raspberry and spicecake aromas are open and uncomplicated. A nicely fresh wine with sweet red berry preserve flavors and a gentle tannic structure. Finishes clean and sweet, with impressive length for this price.

The 2006 G1 from Emporda Costa Brava is purple-colored with a nose of earth, mineral, and black cherry. On the palate the wine is a bit compressed and firm but pleasant nevertheless. This is an excellent value to drink over the next three years.

Ruby-red. Grapey blackberry and plum on the nose, with a floral accent. Juicy and primary in dark fruit expression, with a lush, jammy quality and a sweet, lingering finish. Straightforward, tasty and plump, offering a lot of flavor for the money.

The G Series (all 100% Garnacha raised in stainless steel) begins with the 2005 G1 from Emporda Costa Brava. It offers ample ripe cherry-flavored fruit and good length in a medium-bodied package. It is just a bit compact on the mid-palate but pleasing overall. Drink it over the next year.
