Pinot Grigio is a white wine grape thought to be a mutant clone of the Pinot Noir grape. It normally has a unique grayish fruit, accounting for its name ("grigio" meaning "gray" in Italian) but the grape can have a brownish pink to black and even white appearance. The word "Pinot", which means "pinecone" in French, could have been given to it because the grapes grow in small pinecone-shaped clusters. Our Pinot Grigio grows on the Amorosa Vineyard and always exhibits great structure and aromatics. You cannot accuse this Pinot read more...Grigio of being too watery, or too tart like some of the other Pinot Grigios on the market. This extremely versatile wine can easily stand alone but also makes a good partner to foods such as spicy sausages, mild Chinese dishes, roast or fried chicken, seafood, and pasta with tarragon.
