Food Pairings for Vineyard 29 Zinfandel Aida Estate
A very woody nose on first sniff, with brush, moss and resin-infused aromas soon joining whiffs of rich fruit, including plum, raisin and blackberry, and adding notes of garden vegetables, herbs, and smoke intermittently, with cabbage, wet towel, and a barnyard factor threading through the haze. On the palate, tastes of dark berries, plums, prunes and raisins open, with hints of cream and cinnamon following. Tangy in the middle and a bit peppery on the back side, with diminishing returns throughout the palate over 3 hours. Well balanced and pleasant acidity, but not much emerges in this wine after the first hour.
