Year after year, Vineland Estates produces marvelous award-winning wines, and this ice wine proves that their reputation is well-deserved. Located on the lower Niagara Peninsula in Ontario, Canada, growing conditions at Vineland are very similar to those in Burgundy, with matching amounts of annual sunshine hours and rainfall. The '97 Ice Wine shows a rich golden color and an explosive nose of peach and honeyed apricot. Heavy and concentrated yet exotic and smooth this dessert wine seems never to finish. Although great by itself, simple desserts such as pound cake or creme brulee are excellent pairings.
