Vinedo de Los Vientos Tannat Alcyone 2010
Our Tannat Dessert wine, instills a calmness with its polished tannins, radiant yet amber purple hues and its honey like texture. Touched with a bouquet of winter flowers, Madagascan vanilla bean and wild apple mint indulged with a warmth and savor of white cacao souffle. As the story ends with tranquility, so does the longsome finish of the wine.
With dark chocolate, this is as good as it gets (so far).
VANILLA! Very nice, rich.
Had this wine a long time ago with dessert after a fancy dinner at the Four Seasons Boston--even after an overwhelmingly delicious meal, this wine is what I remember. It is intensely sweet but NOT cloying. The flavors of honey, caramel, and cocoa are all very present. It accompanies a sweet, creamy dessert very well but I'd just as soon drink a glass of it alone. One of the most unusual dessert wines I've ever tasted.
Wow - this is a pretty intense, thick, gloupy, syrupy wine. Licoice, chocolate and vanilla bean.
A really unusual wine, great for chocolate desserts.
Had this with an intense chocolate cake at BLT Prime in NYC. It was astounding; a perfect match for the cake. The wine carried flavors of chocolate, cherry, caramel, vanilla and dried figs and played off the flavors of the dessert perfectly.
