Viñedo de Los Vientos Chardonnay Blend Atlàntida Estival 2009

Winemaker's Notes:

Its silky white tone is exenterated by tart passion fruit wrapped in pineapple skin. The floral notes continue to flourish with zucchini flowers sauteed in citrus oils, amplified with an almond finish that matures in ones taste.

My girlfriend and I have been holding out on opening our last bottle 2009. It was suggested at a wine tasting, and though we usually drink pinot, this wine fits the bill for us. Problem is, where to buy more?

Surprising Chardonnay, Gewürztraminer and Muscato Blanco. Golden with a floral nose and succulent agave nectar. Nice acidity, tart without pucker, dry and rich, but clean. Lastly, it has a bright sparkling minerality to just confuse you a little bit further. A wine of opposites and something one would drink if you could jump into a garden picnic scene in an Italian tapestry pillow.

just enjoyed with a fine beef stew. Even my wife who does not like reds much thought this was excellent with complex flavors.

The beauty starts in the color - with a deep straw yellow hue. It continues with the aroma of orange peel and touch of almond. On the palate is a round lush touch of orange peel again along with a hint of winter spices and nice bright finish.

Unusual wine - at my tasting they either really like it or not at all. I enjoyed it because 1st time I had it. Tannic and acidic but not in an offensive way.

Tannat from Uruguay does not have the same complexity of flavor as those from Madiran in my opinion. I prefer Pierre Laplace Madiran.

We highly doubt you would guess where this wine came from if you tasted it blind. You'd certainly note its clean, unoaked New World style. This is a dry white blend that’s highly aromatic and fresh, with floral and apple fruit. It’s also delicious.

We're no etymologists, but we think it would be fair to say that the red Tannat grape got its name from the tannins in its skins. Yes, the tannins in this wine are firm - but boy, are they good with anything meat-based, especially if it's grilled. So go ahead: lug the barbecue out to your fire escape and enjoy.

The nose delivers overwhelming aromas of autumn leaves and earth, while the palate is black licorice and wild mushrooms. - Winery ** SOLD OUT **

A rarity from Uruguay Tannat is unique to just a handful of wine regions world wide predominately blended in the wines of Madiran in southwest France. It is in Uruguay however bottled as a 100% varietal where it arguably finds its most polished expression. Redish-black in the glass this young tannic red is beautifully balanced and silky on the palate. Deep dark chocolate espresso and blackberry flavors swirl around a structured frame with plenty of potential for aging. No shortage of character here yet the fruit is pure and alluring with skilled crafting.

What happens when you take a hearty, ageworthy grape and slightly dry the grapes and age it in oak for nearly a year? At the hands of Pablo Fallabrino, you get a brilliant hearty, dry red wine. Ripasso is a typically Italian vinification method that adds complexity, depth and body to wines.
