one of the best wines I have ever tasted, a little more body would have made it the absolute best! A nose of dark fruit, vanila, and oak....on the palate ripe cherry with a little bit of rasberry hints of oak and vanilla and currant one of the smoothest finishing wines I have ever tasted!
My first and only taste of this wine was last summer (June 12, 2007). At the time, my notes were sparse, but here goes: Nose of big fruit, little oak, strawberries, slight vanilla (perhaps more oak than I describe with "little"?) Flavors were typical Cab (i.e. cassis), with strong tannins. I think my notes indicate the tannins weren't harsh, but rather strong in structure.

Winemaker Notes - Aroma: Nuanced aromas of both red and dark fruits, with blueberries and red cherries playing a leading role. Hints of spice, bay leaf and cocoa add layers of complexity and character. Palate: Entering with bright sweet fruit, the palate is rich, full bodied and powerful. Shades of mocha and molasses from the French oak provide a complexity that lingers through the finish.
Pretty much as good as Napa Cabernet gets. Shows the blackberries, black currants, blueberries and spicy plums of Oakville and scads of spices, and the tannin-acid structure is, in a word, superb. WE 98 Pts. WS 91 Pts. - Winemaker's Notes - Intense at entry with bright sweet fleshy currant, blackberry, and cassis fruits. Hints of dark chocolate and licorice add complexity to the intense black fruits. The flavors build into a rich, full bodied mid palate that has a mouth feel that is lush and harmonious. The finish goes on and on.
92 Points Wine Spectator: A rich creamy style with a dash of toasty vanilla layered with red and black fruits and a hint of anise and sage. Complex elegant and balanced with supple tannins. Drink now through 2016.
