Vincent Girardin Savigny-Lès-Beaune White les Vermots-Dessus 2011

External Review:

Reduction knocks down the nose though the brooding yet generous medium-bodied flavors evidence a pretty touch of stone on the reasonably well-delineated, mouth coating and moderately austere finish. This compact effort is well-balanced and should rew... Burghound. A Pinot Noir wine from Burgundy in France. 2010 Vincent Girardin Corton Perrieres 750ml

Vincent’s red wines are profound and intense, balancing the tannins and the ripe fruit. These wines demonstrate fullness of structure, with unmistakable grandeur, without any astringency. Success in winemaking requires a rigour and attention to detail at all times for each individual wine. Because each wine has its own specific characteristics, the right technical decisions by the winemaker are essential. Read less

Medium red-ruby. Very reticent nose hints at black fruits, licorice, menthol and juniper. Silky-sweet; almost tastes like theres some residual sugar here. Boasts plenty of volume and finishing persistence, with late-arriving tannins that build. ... Stephen Tanzers IWC. Here the nose is slightly riper than that of the Bienvenue as there is a mildly exotic character to the otherwise attractively fresh and complex yellow orchard fruit nose that gives way to seductively textured concentrated and agreeably energetic flavors. Consistent with a typical Bbtard this is solidly powerful focused and balanced but there isn t quite the same depth and overall sense of harmony. That said this is still quite good. Burghound.

A hint of tar accents the black cherry in this burly red. This is rich and concentrated, and a treat with a hearty meal. Think roast chicken. Drink now through 2014.
