Vincent Girardin Puligny Montrachet Rouge Pinot Noir 2005

Member Review by sfquixote:

Paired this with Julia Child's recipe for beef bourguignon, and it was quite delicious for the price. I have certainly had better burgundies and New World pinots, but this was, nonetheless, a very drinkable wine. Smoky tobacco nose, very herbal on the palate, yet still with that rush of jammy forest fruits that makes me love pinot. Packed with tannins. Pairing Notes: Red meats and hard cheese. Rating: 88 Pts. – Wine Spectator

Success in winemaking requires a rigour and attention to detail at all times for each individual wine. Because each wine has its own specific characteristics, the right technical decisions by the winemaker are essential. Read less
