External Reviews for Vincent Arroyo Petite Sirah
Seeking a change from his career as a mechanical engineer in the Silicon Valley, the very humble, self-effacing Vincent Arroyo went up to the North end of Napa Valley in the early 1970s and purchased the 23-acre Greenwood Ranch property. Today the property is 85-acres, most of it still tended by Vincent himself, who has established a reputation as a Petite Sirah master. For years he sold some of his excellent fruit to notable producers including Turley (Rattlesnake Acres) but is now concentrating on bottling everything under his own label. He has such a loyal following for his wines including the Petite Sirah, a Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Sauvignon/Syrah/Petite Sirah blend, “Entrada”, that his sales are exclusively consumer direct. His signature deeply colored, lip-smacking Petite Sirah has thesweet-tart character of height of season blackberries, huckleberries, and boysenberries, with Herbs de Provence and pink peppercornnotes. This chewy, vibrantly flavored food-friendly wine is a slam dunk for any meal, from a finger-licking BBQ to an elegant table set with the softest Frette linens.
