Winemaker's Notes:

[92 Robert Parker] Explosively rich smoky aromas of cherry cassis cola espresso and licorice. Deep and silky with excellent concentration sweetness and purity to the dark fruit flavors. The finish is an endless display of sweet lush blackcurrant and blackberry fruit with fine dusty tannins adding focus. This saw a lot of new oak but has the fruit to support it. [91 pts Wine Spectator] This lush red delivers rich chocolate currant and black cherry flavors with notes of allspice and espresso. Has enough acidity to keep it fresh. The muscular tannins are well-integrated. Drink now through 2012. [90 pts Robert Parker] Made from 60 to 100 year-old ungrafted Tinta de Toro vines the 2003 Cenit boasts outstanding concentration as well as beautiful intensity purity and texture. This opaque purple-tinged effort reveals notes of graphite kirsch liqueur blackberries and smoky oak. Rich full-bodied and impressive it can be drunk now or cellared for 10-12 years.
