What to Expect

Carmenère is one of a small group of wines that thrives in its adopted land but struggles to gain acceptance at home. It still is used on occasion in France's Bordeaux region where it adds color and complexity to blends with its distinctive mélange of smoky, herbal and gamy tones. In South America, particularly Chile, it ripens fully and the wines take on added layers of dark berry fruit that gives it a balance rarely achieved in France.

Winemakers Notes

This attractive wine has distinctive aromas of coffee, bitter chocolate, cherry, blackberry jam, blueberries, cranberries, spices, lavender, forest and burned land, cinnamon and some black pepper. Big and tasty, it fills the palate with its balanced body and its ripe red fruit flavours. It also has a perfumed finish and velvety tannins that linger with notes of coffee.

Pra quem gosta de vinhos ao estilo do Novo Mundo o Carmenère da Ventisquero faz juz a fama desta uva no Chile. Um vinho com muita madeira, encorpado e ao mesmo tempo com acidez no ponto certo.
