Dill and toasted vanilla mix with lightly crisp red and black cherry fruit. Stays slightly firm, with the dill hint lingering on the finish. Drink now.
Opaque ruby. Dark berries and mocha on the nose, augmented by a subtle smoky quality and a touch of cracked pepper. Round and fleshy, displaying slightly loose-knit dark fruit flavors and no rough edges. Finishes smooth, with modest persistence. I'd have liked a bit more focus. The Root:1 wines are made from grapes grown on their original, ungrafted rootstock, which is pretty normal in Chile but quite rare elsewhere, especially in Europe.
Fairly warm and syrupy on the nose, with bits of earth, leather and baked plum. The palate is a touch underdeveloped and herbal in terms of flavor, but there's no shortage of size. Plump and chewy but basic on the finish, with a returning set of herbal berry flavors that could use more coaching.
