Viña Santa Rita Cabernet Sauvignon Rapel Valley 120 2008
Green, earthy scent. Berry flavor, sour/dry, with a mocha finish.
84/100 points. Deep red color that fades to pink and clear at the rim. Sharp nose of oak, blackberry, and a hint of aged cheddar. This is a smokey wine; I would guess it was aged in a heavily charred barrel. Because of this, the wine has a very earthy taste. Flavors of black currant, cherry and citrus. The flavors fade quickly, and inadequate acidic balance leaves this wine short. The elements are there to make a good wine, but the performance is lacking. Even so, this is a good buy at a price point of $9. Don't let the rating fool you, I would happily have this again after a hard days work!

Brilliant ruby red colour. An intense bouquet developed through a combination of mature red fruits and plums and vanilla tones with a fine toast from the barrels. Medium body, a fine structure and a nice ending characterise this wine
