Vina Santa Carolina Carmenere 'Barrica Selection' 2003
The Barrica Selection wines are small-production, super premium bottlings -- created by selecting the varietal that grows best in each appellation to represent the best of Chile. Offerings include Chardonnay from Casablanca, Syrah from Maule Valley, Carmenere from Rapel Valley and Cabernet Sauvignon from Maipo Valley. The careful grape sourcing and vineyard attention help Barrica Selection wines achieve a level of sophistication and quality.
Good cheap wine. I know that's usually an oxymoron, but this time fully truth. Round flavor and tanines, the chocolaty flavor wit the fruits is great. For years has Camernere in chile been believed to be merlot, so expect a kind of Merlotish wine.
