Vina Robles Petite Sirah Jardine Vineyard 2007

Just popped my second and last bottle of this. Definitely has improved with 6 more months of bottle age. I forgot that I had paired it with a burger last time and did the same thing. I am convinced that this is one of the best burger wines out there. It even smells like a burger. Has the color of a well done burger. Did I forget to mention, forget to mention, burgers?

luscious cigar box and spicy blackberry flavors. this can be put away for at least five years based on the tannin levels. went great with a burger.

intense blueberry/blackberry flavors - spicy finish on the tip of your tongue. try to savor for as long as possible before slowly swallowing.....you'll be suprised how long the intensity lingers. the aroma is intoxicating - enjoy a deep breathe in between each sip (mind you not little sips). This wine is for the bold red lover. I prefered this alone - didn't want to pair with food and take the chance of losing any of the intense berries (though I did pop a few freshly picked blueberries still warm from the Summer sun while enjoying.)

The 2007 Petite Sirah has a dark purple hue with lush aromas of blackberries, blueberries, cherries and a hint of herbs and spices. The flavors were more from the black fruits along with some plum, cedar and ending with white pepper. This is a very good wine that I think will only get better over the next 5 years.

Upon opening, the candied fruit immediately impresses. The taste however, is a wonderfully smoky essence. Yum! Great w/ grill lamb loin chops.
