Viña Godeval Valdeorras Blanco 2006

Member Review by WineFlair:

This wine is made from Godello, sometimes incorrectly - as HERE - identified as Verdelho, a grape that grows in Portugal and is associated with Madeira wines. Godello (Go-day-oh) is the native white-wine grape of Valdeorras, in the Galician DO of Spain. This wonderful, mineral-y, medium-body white wine reminds of Chablis but with the crisply acidic snap of a NZ Sauvigon Blanc. Citrus, green apple and a touch of spice. Great food wine and a nice change from a legion of Albarino whites from nearby Rias Baixas.
