Viña Errazuriz 'The Blend' 2007

Winemaker's Notes:

The Errazuriz Estate was founded in 1870 when Don Maximiano Errazuriz planted his first vineyards at Panquehue in the Aconcagua Valley - 100km North of the capital. Recognising that this valley, with its cool, rainy winters, hot, dry summers and moist Pacific Ocean breezes, was ideal for growing grapes, Don Maximiano sent for the finest clones from France and with tenacity and perseverance transformed this barren land into a world class vineyard.Today, the tradition of quality lives on with Don Maximiano's descendant Eduardo Chadwick. Eduardo is the fifth generation of his family to be involved in the wine business. The different fine grape varieties used to craft our 2007 'The Blend' were sourced from specific parcels of our Max and Ocoa Vineyards in the Valle de Aconcagua. The 2007 vintage is primarily based on Syah, followed by Cabernet Franc, Carmenère, and Roussanne from our vineyards in the Valle de Aconcagua. The result of this magnificent blend is Gorgeous cherry-red in colour, with a nose that spotlights abundant fresh red fruit aromas with a light touch of spice. The palate confirms what the nose perceived, as the fresh fruit intermingles with the notes of black pepper, cedar, and chocolate, complemented by just a hint of a floral touch. Firm tannins and lively acidity make this a wine with great structure, plenty of nerve, and tremendous persistence, all of which bode well for a long life in the bottle. This delicious red is also very versatile and can be enjoyed with a variety of red meats, stews and medium to strong cheeses.
