Food Pairings for Vina del Mar Tinto Penedès Jaume Serra Rood
Editorial Reviews for Vina del Mar Tinto Penedès Jaume Serra Rood
This shows impressive complexity on the nose with layered nut, honeycomb, toast, dried fruit and vegetal floral aromas. Fine mousse combined with a broad yet transparent feel in the mouth gives this a lovely presence, both sophisticated and elegant. The flavors are perhaps a touch light on the palate with a hint of something vaguely cherried sitting atop lemon, sour apple and bosc pear skin notes. The fruit here is subtle yet fresh with a lovely interplay on the finish between the fruity and earthy sides to this wine. Very nicely done. 88pts
Clean fresh and light. Nice citrus notes.
Pale bright, streaming pinpoint effervescence, aromas of bruised apple and bread dough, flavor notes of apples and citrus, lite on the palate, on to a moderate dry finish. Great Value!
What I would expect from a medium range Cava. plenty of bubbles, crisp nose mildly fragrant. Somewhat flat with little left on the palette. For this Restaurant it was the best value for a White wine on the lower price ranges.
I really loved this one and for the price....can't be beat. I found it at World Market. It is slightly heavier than Rose wines I have found in CA, but I like that. A good strong zip with a fruity after taste. It has been selected as best Value Brand wine of the year by Wine&Spirits magazine for the third year in a row.

The Cristalino is crisp and refreshing, with lovely toasty, pie crust aromas and some austere citrus and apple flavours. It?s definitely dry, though not bracingly so.
Straw color, smooth and fresh aromas; fine and fruity palate with a dry aftertaste. Clean, dry and crisp with citrus and apple flavors.
Penedes, SpainJaume Serra Cristalino Cava Brut is a delightful sparkling wine from the Penedes region of northeast Spain. It is made from the grape varietals Macabeo 50%, Parellada 35% and Xarello 15%. Spending 18 months on the lees, this refreshing sparkler offers a fine alternative to Champagne at a fraction of the price. Wine & Spirits gave Cristalino Brut a 91-point rating!Jaume Serra Cristalino Cava Brut is bright green-gold in color with fine bubbles. It shows pleasing aromas of green apples, peaches, toast, flowers, cinnamon and herbal notes. Crisp and bright, dry with medium-full body, this sparkling wine has rich flavors of apples, figs, lemon, roasted almonds and pie crust. It is fruit-forward and nicely balanced, with a clean, citrusy finish.Enjoy Jaume Serra Cristalino Cava Brut as an apritif and with filet of sole, grilled shrimp, paella, chicken salad, and fruit desserts.
This wine is round and rich with lime, grapefruit and lemon flavors. It is crisp with acidity and finishes bone-dry with a slightly toasted note. It is a great compliment to rich seafood dishes, including those heavily sauced with such ingredients as aioli.
