This what Gary Vaynerchuk was talking about a few years ago when he said that Chilean Pinot was going to explode. This destroys California and Oregon Pinots at the same price point. Just a great versatile wine that I would even pair with a nice T-Bone.
when a wine is this tart it's supposed to taste like green apple. unfortunately this tastes like drinking a sour patch kid without all the sweetness.
Spicy and structured, but unfortunately not a very good nose. Hardly able to get the dark chocolate aftertaste which I had expected from a Carmenere.
Much better than I expected for $10 and a screw cap, fruity and yet earthy at the same time. Cherry cola, blackberry, tobacco, and oak nicely balance out. Rich, full of flavor, what a value for the price. Chile should be very proud of its wines these days.
I pretty much drank the whole bottle. The flavors aren't coming to mind at the moment, as it was a few hours ago and I've drank others since, but I do remember the wine was very smooth and subtle, with an interesting complexity. A lemon/lime component definitely. I liked it a lot, will definitely buy again. Edited on 8/4/09: Drinking this right now for the second time and it tastes 95% like a pink grapefruit and 5% granny smith apple juice. Great acidity, mouth-watering. Still like this wine. Maybe not as complex as I had initially remembered, but tasty.
A nice wine priced for a song! Opens easily with berries, slight smokieness, and burst of acidity. Velvety tannins are there but well integrated. Would give this 5 glasses if I considered price at all. Varietally correct as well, tastes like the component of a Bordeux blend that it is (at least used to be). If you like Cab Franc...give this grape a try.

Spicy, earthy red with great fruit, hearty body and elegant richness. Don't let the obscure varietal throw you off - you will love this wine if you like Cabs, Syrahs or Merlots. Very easy to drink, with excellent food-pairing potential. Serve this with any steak, beef stew or grilled vegetable dish.
Bold, yet extremely smooth, this wine gives off a deep garnet red color in the glass that leads to flavors of cherry, blackberry, dark chocolate and coffee.
Very juicy, with forward, tasty flavors of plum, blackberry, tobacco and roasted vanilla. There's a nice dash of grip on the finish. Drink now.
Deep ruby. Ripe aromas of blackcurrant, cherry, plum and tobacco, lifted by a subtle floral quality. Rich and ripe, with a rather supple texture and a sweet dark berry flavor dominating. I don't detect any tannins in this fruit bomb. Finishes with expansive dark fruit character and sweet persistence.
Blackberry, mint, forest floor and a touch of oak create a nice aromatic whole. Plum and berry flavors are full and ripe, while the mouthfeel is round and commendable. This is a Merlot that touches all the bases.
Dark red. Spicy cherry and cassis aromas are complemented by mocha and licorice. This fleshy, sweet midweight shows clean red fruit flavors straight through the finish, which delivers surprising vibrancy and silky tannins for a merlot at this price. This is what people want when they buy merlot, but they seldom get unless they're willing to drop $40, or much more.
