Viña Cono Sur Sauvignon Blanc Visión 2007
Served slightly chilled. This wine is a pale yellow color in the glass. On the nose this wine shows tropical fruit, pineapple, papaya, and pear. The flavors on the palate follow the nose with papaya and other tropical fruits. This wine has off-dry sweetness, good acidity, and a medium-light body. The finish is quick but clean with a little sweetness. This wine shows great balance overall. It is a very accessible wine that is easy to drink and in my opinion it would be a crowd-pleasing type of wine among wine enthusiasts and non-wine drinkers alike. Good quality to price ratio. High 3.5 out of 5.
I picked this bottle up $5 on a clearance rack at World Market. For $5 this is a very good wine. Chilled for 15 minutes before tasting. At first the aromas where a bit muted but open up with time. Noted citrus and lime on the nose and tastes of tropical fruits, peach, and citrus. The tastes are very apparent but tend to fade rather quickly. Very easy and enjoyable to drink.
