Viña Cono Sur Pinot Noir Rapel Valley 2011

Member Review by Chris Carpita:

Rich blackberry aromas balanced well against dark earthy notes with hints of oak and vanilla. There are some tropical fruit qualities as well. The body approaches kindly with rising mountain berry acidity on the finish. It's a well executed pinot with moderate complexity.

Plum and spicy finish.

Mild strawberry and raspberry aromas are fresh and snappy. All totaled, this is light on its feet and not overly demanding; flavors of red plum, raspberry and oak finish with hints of mint and anise along with lifting acidity.

Light red. Textbook pinot scents of red berries and musky herbs. Light-bodied strawberry and raspberry flavors show good clarity and modest depth. Pleasantly fruity, straightforward pinot with good cut and subtle sweetness on the finish.

An open and honest version, delivering fresh cherry, currant, game and light mineral notes on a medium-bodied, easy-drinking frame. A hard to find value for this varietal. Drink now.
