Viña Cono Sur Pinot Noir Rapel Valley 2009
Too hot and acidic for my taste. Not very complex.
Heat, cherries, plums and a bit of cranberries. Palate is full of tar, cherries, earth and asphalt.
very easy to drink with or without food, loads of cherry, strawberries, raspberries, little bit of pepper, overall enjoyable
red cherry fruit is prevalent with a little raz and red currants, fruit forward and easy drinking
Great purchase for the price. Cherry and raspberry on the nose and a palate that is light but with a spiciness. Hints of cherry and plum. Medium bodied with a long lasting finish.
Nice and strong aromas on the nose, mostly strawberry and red berries. Maybe a hint of oakiness. Relatively simple on the palate with more red berry flavors. Basic Pinot for under $10. 86 pts.
Nose of freshly turned soil. Loads of earth and clove driven spice notes. Dried leaves. Rather funky. Some sulfur dioxide. Has a malbec-like smokiness and some herbaceous qualities. Flavors of tobacco leaf, raspberry, cherry and blackberry fruit which are surprising given the lack of fruit on the nose. The fruit flavors are concentrated and somewhat stewed. Odd combo and a bit tarry, but overall, palatable.

We're always pleased to taste a Pinot Noir like this one from Cono: bright, fruity, and varietally correct in so many ways. Aromas of raspberries and cherries dominate the palate. The abundant fruit makes this as clear an expression of New World Pinot Noir as anything on our shelves.
Aromas of cherry and raspberry bring a slight earthy stemminess, while the palate is light and zesty, with semisharp plum and pie cherry fruit flavors and a dash of red sucking candy. Medium-long at best on the finish, with citrus, tang and pepper notes.
Pinot Noir is trickling in from the Southern Hemisphere; particularly noteworthy is this line of value-oriented Pinots from Chile. With voluptuous texture and bright red fruits all in the right place, Cono Sur's balanced, California-style Pinot puts the emphasis on freshness and ripe fruit.
Winemaker's notes:Dressed in fresh purple red colour, this is a voluptuous Pinot Noir with rich fruit notes of cherry, raspberry, plum and strawberry a red fruit party! enhanced by subtle smoked hints. In mouth sweet fruit notes stand out, and its fine tannins give it a great texture and a mouth filling structure. Balanced and New World styled, this is a wine of personality and elegance. Sexy, pure and simple, it's a young and refreshing Pinot. Our Cono Sur Pinot Noir is a great choice for all sorts of pasta, grilled poultry, seafood and mild fish. It's also excellent when accompanying dishes served with pesto sauces. If ordering in, mushroom pizza and sushi go great with this wine.
