Our main goal is to create expressive and innovative wines from one of the world's southernmost wine regions. Cono Sur Vineyards & Winery was founded in 1993, with the vision of producing premium, expressive and innovative wines conveying the spirit of the New World. Our name refers to the company’s geographic position; it represents wines proudly made in South America’s Southern Cone, on whose western edge lies Chile and its gifted wine valleys. Our logo also evokes a freehand drawing of the silhouette of South America. Our quest is to present the world with the finest grape expression and character, from Chile’s varied wine regions. A full, generic berry fruit opening is not such a bad thing for value-priced Chilean Merlot. Fresh and fruity in the mouth, with no hard edge or bite. A mild herbal layer settles in on the finish. Tight and solid overall.

Fresh, pure and uncomplicated, with ripe mixed berry and plum fruit caressed by modest vanilla on the round, easy finish. Very tasty. Drink now.

Dark red. Spicy cherry and cassis aromas are complemented by mocha and licorice. This fleshy, sweet midweight shows clean red fruit flavors straight through the finish, which delivers surprising vibrancy and silky tannins for a merlot at this price. This is what people want when they buy merlot, but they seldom get unless they're willing to drop $40, or much more.

Blackberry, mint, forest floor and a touch of oak create a nice aromatic whole. Plum and berry flavors are full and ripe, while the mouthfeel is round and commendable. This is a Merlot that touches all the bases.

From Colchagua Valley, an outstanding value in Merlot. Young and fruit-forward, yet smooth and food-friendly, this wine has it all. Pair with any meat dish, especially pork or turkey.
