Vina Cobos Voltumo 2009
Deep crimson hued and fragrant with ripe raspberry, cocoa and anise, this is a weighty, richly textured malbec. A velvety palate unfolds with black and red fruits in a tight weave, as subtle notes of caramel and graphite add intrigue, complementing the supple tannins over a lengthy finish. Alcohol 14.9%
Very smooth. Blackberries and oak.
Bamboo and water chestnut dominate the nose in stunning and unusual fashion, and the savory note is present in the mouth as well, where it combines with dark fruit and a touch of citrus for a many-layered experience, the only defect being a somewhat bitter finish. Stewed fruits and toffee beckon in the nose, and they don’t disappoint – nice structure and a suitable density carry the flavors on through. Makes a good case for the combination of barrel (30%) and steel (70%) fermentation! (AV 87, http://argovino.com/?p=331)
With a nose of chocolate, fresh wood, and blackberries, the 2009 Bramare Malbec doesn't disappoint. It shows ample body and a luxurious texture. I wouldn't turn down a glass of this, if it was offered to me.

A Malbec wine from Mendoza in Argentina. 2009 Vina Cobos Bramare Malbec Lujan de Cuyo 750ml
Smells a bit heavy, oily and like dry cornflakes. The palate is straightforward, with tropical, candied flavors of mango, banana and sweet melon. Sweetness is the key here; itandrsquo;s all over the palate and finish.
Ripe and easygoing, with straightforward apple and pear notes backed by modest butter on the finish. Drink now.
Fresh, with forward, easygoing raspberry, vanilla and licorice notes. Juicy finish. Drink now.
