($85) Bright medium ruby. Primary but already aromatic nose combines superripe blackberry, black raspberry, violet pastille and mint. Dense, sweet, powerful and deep, with extremely youthful flavors of cassis, bitter chocolate and licorice. Chunky and a bit musclebound today, with strong notes of oaky torrefaction. Finishes with big but ripe tannins and some minty lift. This will require a year or two to harmonize and express itself.
