Viña Cobos Malbec Felino 2007
Our most sophisticated Felino malbec yet carries a deep magenta hue and aromas of dark berries and anise. On the palate, intense, pure flavors of just-picked raspberries, black plum and graphite unfold in velvety layers. Exotic notes of ginger and white pepper carry through the mid-palate to intermingle with firm tannins and notes of cedar on the finish.
Inky purple color with violet hues around the edge. Fairly sharp gradient from edge to center. Aromoas of alcohol, black cherries and hay. Smokey dary fruits (plums and cherries) from beginning to the middle. Fruit lingers on the palatte for a few minutes afterwards. Excellently balanced.
Very drinkable, excellent value, lots of chocolate on the nose.
Raspberry, Plum, Anise....hints of Ginger!!!...what's not to like?? This is one of my favorite wines of all time, there always seems to be something else I notice about it each time I drink it!
Hints of anise and chocolate. Very good for the price!
Favorite Malbec under 20.00$
Very good value around $20. It holds it's own with more expensive wines. Delicious!

Ripe, with blackberry and raspberry fruit, hints of toast, game and mineral, and a juicy finish. Great buy. Drink now through 2005.
Bright ruby-red. Varietally expressive nose offers black cherry, blackberry, leather, bitter chocolate, coffee and a hint of sandalwood. A sweet, fresh midweight, not yet complex but offering good stuffing and backbone. Perhaps a bit youthfully sullen but serious for the price range. Harmonious already but Irsquo;d hold this for a year before popping the cork. Finishes with broad, dusty tannins. Very nicely made.
The 2007 Felino Malbec is a splendid introduction to this grape variety. The nose is redolent of wild black cherry leading to an elegant, ripe, wine with gobs of flavor and 1-2 years of aging potential. Drink this hedonistic effort through 2015. Robert Parker. A Malbec wine from Mendoza in Argentina. 2007 Vina Cobos Malbec El Felino 750ml
Superstar winemaker Paul Hobbsrsquo; 2002 Argentinian efforts are drawing worldwide praise. Blockbuster Malbec. New World style with heavily extracted color and fruit mdash; a first-rate vintage for Argentina. A hedonistic wine that holds together all its burly blackberry fruits on firm tannins. Subtle anise and dried herb flavors add intrigue and complexity to the palate. Superb wine.
The 2006 El Felino Malbec spent 9 months in French and American oak, 21% new. It is opaque purple in color with a complex nose of spice box, mulberry, and black cherry. This leads to a smoothly-textured, full-bodied wine with layers of plum and black raspberry flavor, good structure, and excellent length. It can be enjoyed now and over the next 6 years. It is a sensational value in high quality Malbec.
Straightforward, showing a solid core of crushed plum, boysenberry and licorice notes, backed by sweet toast on the medium-weight finish. Drink now.
Bright medium ruby. Blackberry and spice on the nose, plus hints of meat and leather. Juicy, fruit-driven and on the lean side; not a fleshy wine but fresh, lively and pure. Offers an attractive light touch mdash; and not at all short on the finish.
