Vina Arnaiz Roble Spain-Castilla Y Leon-Ribera del Duero 2008

Editorial Review by Gregory Dal Piaz:

Tempranillo 90%, Merlot 5%, Cabernet Sauvignon 5% This is spicy on the nose and filled with black fruit, a little skunk and spicy, hibiscus-like floral notes. After the nose, the palate here is a let down. Shows lovely texture with tissue-fine tannins and low acidity that makes this particularly supple, but the flavor is just not here. There are light earthy and nutty accents to the faint strawberry fruit on the palate, which builds to offer some jammy blackberry notes and a hint of wood spice on the modest finish. 83pts
