Viña Albali Blanco Semidulce 2009

Winemaker's Notes:

Viña Albali Tempranillo is made by extracting the optimum amount of tannin and fruit in order to preserve the natural flavors and aromas of the grape variety. The sensations of volume and sweet tannin are achieved by carrying out the malolactic fermentation in American oak barrels and continuing the aging process for a period of two months. This is a young wine that remains in oak barrels for a short time.

Very easy to drink, enjoyable with traditional unadorned meals.

A meduim ruby hue. Horse saddle and hints of caramel and smokey oak greet the nose. Followed by a cherry, blueberry and cranberry medley with subtle stone friut blossom notes. The palate is greeted with a sweet ripe fruit burst right out of the gate balanced with good acidity providing some spine. Bordering on a full-bodied mouth-feel from well pronounced tannins leading to a long dry finish. This wine opened up noticeably after an hour or so...or was it a glass or three?

    Tasting Notes:

Viña Albali Tempranillo is deep red in colour, with purple highlights. It combines aromas of red berries and violets, with the flavour of concentrated blackberries and just a touch of toasted oak. This wine is full-bodied and rich in texture due to the ripened tannins.

    1000000 bottles produced.
