Villadoria Nebbiolo d'Alba 2009

Member Review by atonalprime:

Ruby red color, very light bodied wine with an incredible bouquet of berries and a body full of berries and stone fruit. When accompanied by a chilled cucumber and mint soup (with cilantro and smoked shrimp at Brooklyn's own Char No. 4) there was an intense flavor of watermelon on my palette. As my first nebbiolo experience, I'm extremely happy with it!

Light color, not very intense, with slight orange tinge at rim. Nose of raspberries and faint smoke, also spices that seem to be hiding for the moment. Medium mouthfeel, with nice tannin's and acidity that seem to balance each other out nicely. Raspberries, and anise, lingering on finish for a 10-20 seconds... Very light but the tannin's make me think this will benifit from 6 months or so. Delicious [NR]
