Tasting Notes: The Villa Trasqua Estate lies halfway between Siena and Castellina in Chianti, in the heart of the production area of one of the world best known wines: The Chianti Classico. Chianti Classico 2000: Dark ruby colour with violet hues, it releases ethereal aromas with flower note, offers marked freshness and great harmony,. Good taste progression.
Percentage Grape: 95% Sangiovese and 5% complementary grapes
Soil: The soil has a "franco"-clayey composition with presence of limestone originally from the coast. We also have some soil with clay read more...and sand, originally Pliocene. The exposure of the grounds are mostly S/S-O.
Growing Climate: The climate is optimum: temperature medium circa 15° all year long. Hot during the summer/ autumn but with cool night temperatures, sufficient quantity of rain (circa 800mm a year).
Date of Harvest: End of September/Beginning October
Type of Harvest: the harvest is manual and the best bunches are selected.
Vinification Method: Fermentation on controlled temperature for about 15-20 days
