Bearing in mind that the wine may be entering a "dumb" period where the nose is a bit poky to open, there is the usual stewed preserved plums and clean rubber in evidence. Not much complexity on the nostrils but upon entry there is a buttery, pie crust richness with almost no tannin austerity. The pie filling has, as it were, a most satisfying bramble-berry center and the finish is smooth and long. A very expertly made wine; a veritable poor man's Chateauneuf de Pape.
Great wine for the price. Good flavors.
A harmonius blending of grenache and syrah from the Rhone. I got it for about $14 at my local liquor store and went back for a third and fourth and fifth bottle. It's a great everyday drinking bottle filled with ripe fruits and just a bit of the peppery character grenache adds. Very nice bottle at a modest price.
A fairly decent Spanish red blend for the money.
Really luscious, super sweet with bursts of berry.
Delicious fruity tannic rhone wine. Hint of cats pee on the nose to let you know whose terroir it belongs to, but otherwise leans new world. $13 89 points WKH
Deeeeeeeeelish! Ripe fruit. Maybe even a little over ripe, raisiny, pruney nose but balanced with some nice grape tannins and spice. This went well with my gnocchi but could easily handle a steak. This is some HEAVY Jesus Juice. I like.

Clear, bright ruby. The nose is fresh with a slight aroma of licorice with consistent texture and persistent aroma. Smooth, fresh and persistent.
Cubillo is Lopez’s answer to Rioja Crianza. Following the style of all their wines, this wine could be labeled a class above - as a Reserva - but they keep it a Crianza. It compares to most other Rioja wineries’ Reservas since the wine is aged for three years in oak, followed by another two to three years in bottle. The resulting wine is fruit-forward but with very developed, older-wine aromas of cherries and spices.

Weingut: Dinastia VivancoRegion: RiojaRebsorte: 90% Tempranillo, 10% GracianoInhalt: 0,75 lAlkoholgehalt: 13,5 Vol.%Säuregehalt: 5,0 g/lRestsüße: 2,0 g/lFassreife: in Barriques gereift (24 Monate) Rotwein > Spanien > Rioja
Wine Advocate ReviewA good value, slightly better as well as more complex than the Terrasses, is the 2004 Pesquie Quintessence, a blend of 80% Syrah from 40-year-old vines and 20% Grenache from 80-year-old vines, all in the cooler northern zone in the Cotes du Ventoux appellation. This wine is aged in French oak for 12 months then bottled unfined and unfiltered. Dense ruby/purple to the rim with a big, sweet nose of graphite, black currant liqueur, licorice, as well as smoke, flowers, and barbecue spice, it is full-bodied, has superb fruit, beautiful texture, and a long, heady finish.
Only hand harvested ' this traditional' 'old world ' ' style Rioja is bright ruby in color ' the nose exhibits fresh aromas with a smooth fresh and persistent finish.Perfect with all meat dishes tapas and charcuterie.[65% Tempranillo 25% Garnacha (Grenache) 5% Mazuelo (Carignan) 5% Graciano]
Dark cherry red colour with touches of brick red reminding us of its time spent ageing in barrel. Aromas of mature black and red fruit, as well as sweet creamy, balsamic and toffee notes. Good balance between the ageing nuances lent by extended maturation, and the ubiquitous fruit aromas. Good intensity and balance, soft, round tannins, and a long finish with hints of toast and liquorice.

Made from 65% Tempranillo, 25% Grenache, and 10% Mazuelo and Graciano, this dry Spanish is aged 3 years in barrels before being bottled.

Notes: This wine was then aged in 50% new oak barrels, and 50% second use barrels, for a period of 24 months, and then a further 4 months in larger oak vats to improve the homogenisation and integration of the ageing flavours. After this period of oak maturation, the wine spent a further 24 months completing its ageing in bottle before release.
