I found the 2006 Pinot Grigio to be extremely elegant, poised and refined, with plenty of perfumed, sweet fruit, excellent concentration and terrific style. This reference-point wine is as good as Pinot Grigio gets. Anticipated maturity: 2007ndash;2010.

Bright straw-yellow. Precise, varietally accurate, highly perfumed aromas of pear, pineapple and papaya show an enticing mineral presence that adds to their charm. The satisfying palate offers an impeccable balance of smooth but vibrant yellow apple, pear and pineapple flavors. Not a blockbuster wine, but none of Menottirsquo;s wines ever are. Rather, this pinot grigio, like its stablemates, impresses for sheer purity of fruit, precision of flavor and length on the aftertaste.
