Villa Ragazzi Napa Valley Sangiovese 2010

Winemaker's Notes:

Sangiovese is not easy to vinify, but its natural high acidity assures that the wine will age well. The Villa Ragazzi 1998 was drinking very well in 2012, for example.

Villa Ragazzi:
Villa Ragazzi is a microwinery owned by the Rodeno family. We make Sangiovese from our own Napa Valley vineyard, planted with the unique Rodeno clone (whose tiny berries and low vine vigor most resemble Sangiovese Grosso).

Tasting Notes:

This lovely wine shows the variety's spicy, red fruit characters and clean, bright finish, with a hint of French oak and the deep color typical of the unique Rodeno clone. It has unusually full body and intense color due to low yields, tiny berries and our vineyard site's suitability for growing high quality Sangiovese. Although it has serious aging potential, it can be enjoyed now.
