Amazing depth for a sauvignon blanc. all the crisp clean gooseberry and citrus notes you would expect from a Kiwi SB but it has a great minerality and flinty finish that lasts in the mouth.

Winemaker's Notes:

TASTING NOTE Situated in Marlborough's Awatere Valley, Clifford Bay's cool climate has an intensifying effect on varietal flavours in the vineyards. Powerful aromas of currants, green gooseberry and fresh lime intermingle with exotic fruit in this delightful Sauvignon Blanc. A generous and juicy palate gives way to a long steely finish. VINEYARD DATA Vineyard Yield Low-moderate Vintage Detail Excellent weather around flowering, followed by warm temperatures with rain helping to maintain excellent vine health. 100% machine Harvested SOILS AND VITICULTURE The fruit for this wine comes from a mix of vineyards in the Awatere Valley with a range of vine age and viticultural techniques. The common thread through all the vineyards is close attention to vine balance and health. This enables the vineyard to optimise the ‘site expression’ and unique characteristics of the Awatere Valley.
