A Pinot Noir for Shiraz lovers! Haha... a good wine but it is more like a Shiraz in style than a Pinot Noir... lots of fruit, spices, great body, some elegant minerality and a long finish... a gutsy Pinot Noir! 90 Points

A terrific find, this outstanding Pinot Noir is a blend of fruit parcels from Villa Maria’s single vineyard sites. The fruit represents a unique selection of vineyards, clones and viticultural techniques from both the Awatere and Southern valleys of Marlborough. The vineyards selected are managed with an unrelenting focus on vine health and balance. Extensive canopy management is carried out to ensure this ‘balance’ is achieved in addition to a high focus on irrigation regimes to ensure berries stayed small. The grapes where destemmed 100% and the wine was barrel fermented in open top French barriques about ¼ new oak. The caps were punched down by hand. After fermentation the wine aged 12 to 16 months in barrel before egg white fining and bottling. Now with extended bottle age this wine shows immense complexity and silky softness. Wood smoke, exotic spices and wild berry flavors play on a lush velvety mid palate. The finish is smoky and long. A beautiful and expressive wine. New Zealand wine writer and expert Bob Campbell MW, scored this wine 94 points. Grab it now while it's On Sale!!

This wine presents complex tension between the fruity side of Marlborough pinot noir and its more savory earthy character. It s long on red cherry and raspberry flavor interwoven with oak-driven spice. Wine & Spirits.

Lovely wine that features a mix of ripe plum, black cherry and wild herb flavours. The texture is sumptuous and the finish lengthy. Delicious wine that will no doubt continue to develop but is drinking superbly now. Bob Campbell, MW. A Pinot Noir wine from Marlborough in New Zealand. 2007 Villa Maria Pinot Noir Reserve 750ml

A beautiful red displaying fresh wild berry black cherry plum and Asian spice notes that are ripe and plush with plenty of details of spice and cedar followed by a wonderful dried lavender finish. Drink now through 2019. 450 cases imported. -MW Wine Spectator.

Good bright medium red. Dark berries and dark cherry on the nose. Juicy sappy and sweet with dark berry black cherry and spicy oak flavors complicated by a gamey note. Solidly built pinot noir finishing with a firm tannic spine. Stephen Tanzers IWC.
