Villa Maria Private Bin Sauvignon Blanc Marlborough 2013
Villa Maria's Sauvignon Blanc has been one of our most popular white wines from New Zealand and with the quality of this vintage, the 2013 promises to be the best PB Sauvignon Blanc to date. Hailing from the Marlborough region, Villa Maria Private Bin Sauvignon Blanc is a textbook representation of the area's bright, zippy, grapefruit flavor-inflected wines. If you're a fan of New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc, this one is a no-brainer, especially at this price point.
This is a very strange NZ Sauv Bl. It is characterized by citrus and slight veggy nose. With air however, this wine brings out the bell pepper (not nice). When freshly opened, this wine is quite nice and gets an 88 rating. With air, it degrades to an 83 with veggy dominating. I have tasted many Villa Maria SBs and this one disappoints.
Pushy grapefruit acidity - passion fruit - lime - straw - herbaceous - herby edge - weighty palate - punchy - crisp - mouth watering - green beans - juicy http://www.spittoon.biz/villa_maria_cellar_selection_s.html
Very fruity, with strong apple and kiwi. More fruity than I usually enjoy, but a VERY pleasant and enjoyable wine. I have learned to love the Marlborough NZ Sauvignon Blancs.
You'll know that you have something rather good as soon as you open the bottle. Savour the nose before tasting. My Doc has said no more than 2 bottles per week. (Down from 3.5) Damn difficult to restrict myself to 250ml per day of this one. Easily worth around £9. As i write Tesco has it on at £4.75.

Wonderful grassy dry and refreshing. Great with sweet desserts.
Good value from Marlborough. Great with spicy prawns, or any crab.

Juicy and crisp, with herbal and fresh-cut grass notes mingling with the lemon, lime and grapefruit flavors. Finishes with a peppery accent. Drink now.
The 2013 Private Bin Sauvignon Blanc presents aromas of green apples, lemongrass and chopped herb notes with touches of bell peppers and pea pods. Medium-bodied with mouth-filling vegetal and herb flavors, it has a lively backbone of acid and a long is straightforward finish. Drink it now to 2015.
A great example of New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc with typical ripe tropical-citrus fruit, zippy acidity and smoky, peppery flavors. Enjoy this with well-seasoned chicken, pork or fish dishes, especially if they're a little spicy.
Frische, fruchtige Nase mit Noten von tropischen Früchten. Im Gaumen elegant und fruchtig. Ein komplexer Wein mit Zitrusaromen und tropischen Früchten. Lang anhaltend mit feiner Säure.
