Food Pairings for Villa Maria Private Bin Rslng
Since George Fistonich founded Villa Maria in 1961, it has grown in reputation to become New Zealand's most successful privately owned winery and maker of New Zealand's most awarded wines. Many respected wine writers and critics support this statement; The new Sotheby's Wine Encylopedia stated of Villa Maria "Probably the best all round producer in New Zealand. Villa Maria has a vast array of wines, yet they are all beautifully crafted to enhance fruit and finesse.... if the quality is super, the consistency is supernatural". This success has been achieved through the Villa Maria team's total commitment to the quality of its varietal wines which is continuously rewarded in national and international wine competitions. The Villa Maria Reserve Reisling is a delicate wine with concentrated and pure flavours of lemon and lime, and perfumed orange blossom which harmonise with a characteristic and complex minerality. The wine has classical Riesling palate structure, with its moderate alcohol and crisp and pure acidity. It is fresh, delicate and harmonious with underlying musk and spice notes, and has a luscious medium-dry palate finishing with a long, lovely, pure, racy acidity. Enjoy this Reisling with light summer salads of goats cheese or feta, or whitebait to bring to life its fresh flavours and classic qualities.
