Villa Maria Priv Bin Sauvignon Blanc 2010
Since George Fistonich founded Villa Maria in 1961, it has grown in reputation to become New Zealand's most successful privately owned winery and maker of New Zealand's most awarded wines. Many respected wine writers and critics support this statement; The new Sotheby's Wine Encylopedia stated of Villa Maria "Probably the best all round producer in New Zealand. Villa Maria has a vast array of wines, yet they are all beautifully crafted to enhance fruit and finesse.... if the quality is super, the consistency is supernatural". This success has been achieved through the Villa Maria team's total commitment to the quality of its varietal wines which is continuously rewarded in national and international wine competitions. This vibrant Villa Maria Sauvignon Blanc is bursting with a fruit-salad-bowl of flavours including ripe gooseberry, passionfruit, fresh citrus lime and exotic herbaceous aromas. The wine has an exciting palate with layers of juicy flavours, intensity and fullness, finishing with a refreshing crisp, clean and racy acidity. Enjoy this exuberant and delightful wine with any number of light summer dishes, such as salmon or green bean and potato salad.
For me, this is a quintescential New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc. Has aromas of ripe gooseberry and citrus blossoms tinged with tropical fruits. On the palate it is lithe and lovely with zingy acidity. Really a fine spring or summer wine that would be great in the pic nic basket.
Pale yellow-green colour, beatiful aromatics, ripe exotic fruit, like physalys, with hint of spice and interesting minerality. Full, peach and lime juice, apricot, mango ( basically all the exotic fruit that comes into mind). Medium to Long aftertaste, herbal, citric, pepery, with overall sweet fruit impresions. Overall: Fresh&crispy with impresive aroma complexity:87 pct.

Ripe tropical fruit with a lively herbaceous character. Enjoy with all white meats, vegetarian dishes, salads and especially seafoods.
Bright and lively, with a nice spectrum of green apple, citrus and a touch of earth in its flavor profile. Finishes light and clean.
Fans of New Zealand's SBs will like this wine's racy nose, which is packed with minerals, some stoniness, melon, and a hint of grassiness. Citrus is in full force in the mouth, aided by a touch of green herbs and a white-pepper spice. The finish is elegant and offers hints of grape fruit. It's a youthful, fresh wine; one that will go well with salads or fish.
Fresh and juicy, a lively medley of peach and pineapple flavors, hinting at rosemary and sage on the long finish.
Crisp, refreshing and lively, with citrus, green pear and sweet pea aromas and flavors. Lingers nicely on the crisp finish. Drink now.
